Völkerballtreff München was founded in August 2022 out of a private initiative to play dodgeball together with friends in their free time. Since then, our group has grown continuously, to around 300 group members at present.

Is there an age limit or other requirements for teammates in dodgeball?
The minimum age at Völkerballtreff Munich is 18 years. Otherwise, there is no upper age limit. Even your height or your level of training are irrelevant in dodgeball. The important thing is that you enjoy exercising in your free time and enjoy being around people. The beauty of dodgeball is that anyone can join in. The rules of the game are easy to understand, most people know the game from school. But even those who have never played dodgeball before, will get into it very quickly. For all newcomers we explain the rules before the game starts.
Do I have to pay anything if I want to play at Völkerballtreff München?
Yes and no. We play dodgeball all year round. Most of the games take place outdoors in Munich in the Westpark and in the Englischer Garten. These are public spaces, so there are no fees. You can also use our equipment – playing fields and softballs – free of charge. For the winter months we rent a gym in the Schwanthalerhöhe area of Munich. For this we pay a fee to the city of Munich for each match day, which we split among us players. That's 2.00 to 2.50 euros per game day for each individual. The participation fee is paid on the match day via PayPal.
How long does a dodgeball game day last?
At Völkerballtreff München we usually set two hours of playing time, indoors it's one and a half hours. You don't have to play the whole time, but you can also take a brake or shorten it. It is important that you arrive on time at the start of the game so that we can start with the registered team. For warming up we recommend to be there ten minutes before the official start.

Do I need special equipment to play dodgeball?
No. You can use playing fields and softballs from Völkerballtreff München free of charge. So that we can all benefit from it for a long time, please handle it with care. Theoretically, you can play dodgeball in any clothing and barefoot. Nevertheless, we recommend sportswear and sports shoes that are also suitable for indoor use (clean, white soles). Bring something to drink as well as sun and insect protection on hot, sunny days. We recommend that people who wear glasses wear sports glasses or contact lenses during the match. No liability will be accepted for any damage.
What are the rules of the game in dodgeball?
At Völkerballtreff München we play largely the same way you know it from school. The only big difference is that we play with two balls at the same time for more fun and dynamics. You can find the rules of the game on our website. In addition, we always explain the rules to new players who are joining us for the first time and answer any questions they may have.
Does Völkerballtreff München offer any other sports?
No. But many of our fellow players also do something together outside of Völkerballtreff München and are always happy to see new faces.
